I have been working with people most of my life & working in the mental health field for over 20 years.  I completed a BA in Psychology (’88) and then a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto in 1992. I have studied Mind-Body Medicine at Harvard Medical School at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind-Body Medicine.  My professional experience includes work in child and adult psychiatry, hospitals and community mental health and rehab clinics until opening my private practice in Salmon Arm in 2007.  I am registered with the BC College of Social Workers.

My approach focusses on you as an individual.  Each person has different goals and needs in therapy. Together we can explore your issues and define what you need at this point in your life.  The main thing is a trusting supportive relationship with your therapist. I use a combination of body-mind approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (investigating your thoughts), emdr (eye movement and desensitization reprocessing), focusing (see links), hypnosis and relaxation therapy depending on your issues and goals. As a yoga teacher I believe that the body and mind are inseparable and we draw on the wisdom of both to guide us.

I offer a safe, comfortable, confidential environment to explore your issues at your pace.  The choice to begin counselling is a very personal one and the most important factor is choosing a therapist whom you feel comfortable with.
